Hello everyone,

Do any ABT members have any advice or guidance about energy medicine/healing? I was watching the TLC show called The Healer and found it interesting. Do you have any suggestions on books, courses, educational materials, personal experience to help me on my path to energetically heal others?

Thanks so much for your help!

Hi Valentine

I highly recommend looking into Reiki
There are two forms, Usui Reiki.. and Kundalini Reiki
Dr Mikao Usui (Usui) & Ole gabrielson (Kundalini)

I'd be happy to send you the manual for Kundalini Reiki if you like, it explains how the attunements work, what each one does, different stages of Reiki and so on. Attunements will need to be given by a Reiki master, but it wouldn't be too expensive at all. Some offer a package for all 3 attunements... but you can also do attunement 1 (any time length gap) before completing the 2 and 3

One good thing with the Reiki is you know you can trust the source of the teachings
& can read lineage to know the history of teachers...

There are other forms of healing but those two are the best I think

you can also google Kundalini Reiki Manual free download (Just make sure the Author is Ole Gabrielson
Or if you'd like me to send it just PM me :o)

Usui reiki is equally great. I just think Kundalini is easier as a newbie to healing

Take care

PS, search , there is a page called 'Doctors with Reiki;. I think I remember you saying you are a med student? there is a group of doctors and medical professionals who also use Reiki. Worth looking at

Thank you so much Samantha! I will definitely look into the sources. I am a med student and it sounds like a wonderful group to look into!

I agree Reiki is a good place to start. I would put a disclaimer that if you find a teacher that teaches that the reiki practitioner is the healer then you are not getting reiki training, you are getting ego training. The whole point of reiki is that the practitioner acts as a conduit for healing, loving energy to the person receiving the reiki and it is up the the receiver to decide what gets healed, and very well could be something in the subconscious that the receiver has not allowed themselves to think about. There is no way a reiki practictioner can take credit for any healing except when giving reiki to themselves. Too many of the Usui students (which is my experience) do not understand that. It is like the plug and cord to the lamp. The plug and cord cannot take credit for the light, it is up to the lamp and bulb to produce the iight. The reiki practitioner is the plug and cord, the receiver is the lamp and bulb. I have seen someone receive reiki that actually gave energy or healing to someone they were connected to.

That being said it would be a great boon to our society if more medical students also were trained in reiki and other non alopathic healing modalities. The body is only part of a whole system and if there is something affecting another part of the system, it will affect the body. Allopathic medicine does is not taught to have a concern for the root cause of an illness, just the masking or alleviation of symptoms.

Samantha J,
I would be interested in learning about kundalini reiki. I believe the last reiki master I studied with introduced us to that but he did not label it so. He also did not just teach reiki, he was all over the place with his explorations and we were part of that, but any connection to source for healing energy is actually reiki since the word means "universal life force".

There are many ways, another is to cup your hands visualize a ball forming in your cupped hands, now fill that ball with healing, teddy bear hugs, warmth of a comfy blanket, make your healing ball special then send it on it's way. You can send to yourself also.
