Native American Tribes refer to as the “Pink” Full Moon.
And as this is the first full moon after the Spring Equinox, it is a pink moon.
The reference comes from the moss pink herb, or wild ground phlox flower, which is widespread by spring.
But the moon isn’t just referred to as a pink moon, it is sometimes called a Full Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon or the Full Fish Moon
The full moon in April is significant because it dictates the start of many religious holidays.
For instance, Easter falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox.
It also dictates the beginning of Jewish Passover and the Hindu Hanuman festival.
