3 chairs technique for jolting your mind out of the past and future.
1. The first chair represents your past. You sit on it and think about your past self. Be mindful and kind to yourself. Let your past go. Forgive yourself. Don't beat yourself up. What's happened has happened.
2. The second chair is the present. This is the one you most likely wish to sit in at the end of the session. Be kind to yourself and compassionate.
3. The last chair is the future chair. This is the chair where you will stop worrying over the what ifs and what might be's but focus on the WHAT IS and what you have going for you in your life, to count your blessings.
Try it - every time you catch yourself slipping back into old past habits and future worry. Let it go. Forgive yourself. Heal!
